My directory blew up (not literally)

Hey. I have had a lot of help from a lot of people on WTF, so I like to spread my good news when I get it.
Let me start by saying I have a directory that gives away free links. I have worked on it for roughly 2 months. I average about 5 - 10 submissions per day. Well that was until yesterday. I did a lot of marketing tactics on Sunday. Just all the usual stuff ( social bookmarking, article submissions, and posting in forums), but now I am getting tons of traffic. I have received over 500 submissions in the past 24 hours. That is a lot considering I only had 210 total for the past 2 months

I approve all sites manually, so I hope everyday isn't like this. Oh well if it is, because I am laid off for a month. After that I will be worried about time.
Sorry if this post is in the wrong spot, but just wanted to put some good news out there.

Great news! The sad thing is, it is a pain sorting through all the spam. I will submit a couple more later.

Congratulations. It's good to see that all that hard work is starting to pay off for you.

Regarding the spam, you may want to check if the script you are using has a plugin available to manage it. Perhaps something using a service like Akismet.
