How effective is articles submission to directories, to get backlinks and for traffic generation (for SEO).

If you submit your article in quality article directory than it will help you a lot also low PR article directory provides you backlink to your site it help you to get traffic to your site.

yeah it is very useful .... it generates lots of traffic ...

Depends upon the quality of the directory where you submitted your article.

Directory Submission – it is useful if the directory has quality links and doesn't contain bad links.

Submission to Niche Directory – it's good to get links from niche directory. It adds value to your link relevancy.

Article Submission – it doesn't give high traffic but the keywords that is use as anchor text in article content helps to improved SERP.

Article submission to article directories is extremely beneficial and will have very positive effect to SEO. You should submit to as many directories as possible using 2 tiff rent strategies.

1. Submit manually to high page rank directories and And niche article directories according to your niche fully develop your profile

2. Use article submit ion service like isnare or article marketer to submit to rest of the article directories

If you have a good article then the directories will immediately approved your article and you will have a backlink to your site that is if you put a link to your resource box.

Article submission helps a lot in increasing traffic (depends on the directory) but I think article submission is more useful in increasing SERP rankings.

Good written articles can be quite useful if You for example sell something or provide service, cause people actually can read about Your product before buying it + Your PR can go higher.

good article directory is ArticleBase, if You want to write some stuff, that is one of better places to publish it.

We've been working on improving the formatting of submitted articles in phpLD 4.0 and this is actually something that we changed recently so that articles look nicer on all templates.

Try to submit in those article directories where your article can be cached fast.

Always check before submitting an article whether the article directory is do-follow.
Articlebase.com is no-follow for example.

Which article directories do you recommend? I guess ezinearticles is the most obvious choice and goarticles may be another, but how about others?
