Thread: Is anyone familiar with the directory submission software Directory Invade?

If you are familiar with the directory submission software Directory Invade, I would like to know whether or not you recommend me using it for my 1 year old site. Currently have PR 4.

Would love to hear either horror stories about Directory Invade or Success stories with Directory Invade. Does it work, and does it really boost traffic and PR to your site.

I downloaded it once but then uninstalled it because the list of directories that Directory Invade allows you to submit to in massive and immense. It would take me day to submit to all of them. I want to know if this effort is worth it. Thanks

I'm always wary with these type of automated submission software. I heard that Google can seriously penalise a site for using automated software. However, if it is worth the try and someone gives us the go ahead with a reply. Then I'd be more than happy to try it since I'm in the process of listing my sites in web directories

cool so you are in the same boat as me when it comes to using this software, I had tried it before but not fully. And this software is unique in that it its not an automatic submission software.

What you do is create a profile of your site's details, then directory invade simple refers you to thousand of directories and you have to individually visit each directly and manually submit your site.

What directory invade does in simple prefill in your submission details and tells you where the dirertories are.

So I think this is safe?

My advice is to use Smarty Submitter.
You can test it for free. It is lightweight, and very smart (semi-automated category selection is my favorite)

I really like the amount of directories that it allows you to submit to.

I once submitted through similar type of software.
My site ranked top for one or two keywords which were basically in the domain.
Guess what happened after I used that script. My site isn't even in the 1000 results in google. I got spanked by google. My site is worthless now because it isn't anywhere in the serps now.
My advice becareful. Google knows what's happening.

Yea I have heard of the potential negative kickbacks from using such software, but most often than not it is not the software, it is human error while submitting.

Automatic submission is bad, manual submission good

Directory Invade allows you to make a list of which directories you want to submit too, this is key because than this allows you to regulate at your desire which and how many directories are submitted to per day.

Submitting to 1000s of directories in one day is obviously going to be considered spam, however submitting to 3-5 directories every other day could help you immensely.

Also keep in mind that most directories wont list you right away, although not done on purpose this serves as a waiting period prior to being listed. Hence you can be listed weeks or month after your submission. And in the eyes of google this is more a natural and actually expected.
