Thread: Where Do You Get Your Directory Lists?

I go to addurl

almost 1,000 directories categorized by pr, updates every now and then


I would like more lists but the ones on google that I have found suck.

Vilesilencer has a downloadable Excel spreadsheet that I use.
It has general directories and separate lists for niche directories and it's updated often.
Dan and his crew put a lot of effort into that list and it shows.

Hope I wont get banned for shameless self promotion, but maybe this list would help?

If you are talking about free directories,http://addurl.nu is a great resource.
If paid,then I like the aviva list.

are those directories that you mentioned are all FREE??

No, they aren't all free, the strongestlinks list though tells you next to it if its free or not... although when I recently used it alot of them listed as Free were now paid.

I am using directorycritic and vmoptions.com/directory-listing.php for free directories....

That vmoptions, they've got powrn on their list and I like it! not :twisted:

addurl.nu is the best, really useful resource.

I used directorycritic as well and it is updated regularly. I'll try vmoptions.com/directory-listing.php. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm also using directorycritic, addurl vmoptions and web-directories.ws/General/Free/. Great list for free web directories!

I use addurl.nu frequently and recently used submitterbot.com once.

Use google and search

You can get also directories list from: List of 2500 Free Directories - Listings of general web directories that offer free submissions (no reciprocal link required).

If ever i need some directory lists i just search the posts on any decent forum you can also compile a decent list manually if you have the inclination.

directorycritic is great and most up-to-date directory resource on the web.

Try directory maximizer they have a list and also do submisions cheap

I usually search for google to find more directories.

Nice lists...some forums I check out the Free Web Directories - Webmaster Forum

and if I come across a "serious/experienced" webmaster (someone who my gut senses tell me are gonna make their site big!)
..I add my sites..one at a time!

I use SLIQ. It's not bad, but I try to stick with the better ones.

I have used a few of the lists mentioned. The vmoptions and addurl ones are the best, I think, because they include the dates the directories are listed. You can submit to the very newest ones, meaning that there's a shorter waiting list and you'll end up in the directory quicker, generally speaking. Some of the older directories have huge backlogs, and it might take ages to get included, if at all.

I have used vmoptions, addurl, info.vilesilencer, directoryrate and found vmoptions to be most clean and updated directory list.

I used this list also...

I'm using my own (DirectorySnob.com) which took over 8 months to compile. I'm still cleaning it up, which when done would finalize the project.
Over 26,000 Web Directories on the list from all over the World.

I compiled all the information I gathered here for my own perusal. I'm looking forward to an updated list on the mentioned directory listings. My thumbs-up for the researcher gurus.:scheesy:
