Thread: Spammers try it on again.

Quite unexpectedly I found myself a victim of spam recently surprisingly from someone who decided to auto-fill the feedback form of the phpLynx script.

Thanks to the clown who took the time to do this it taught us a quick lesson and within half a day our programmers had integrated the anti-bot feature into the feedback form as well making the script even more secure than before.

The moral of the story, unwittingly the person who took the time to try and interupt the process of the lynx script, and maybe try and claim a weakness in it actually ended up making the script even stronger.

That's the way it's supposed to happen. Good work on plugging the hole so quickly.

Thanks Zap, we're going to try and keep it that way. You'll never stop them completely but we can certainly try and make it as awkward as hell for them.

It would be wonderful if these spammer losers could even possibly find something better to do then be, well.. losers. Great to hear you guys are on top of it, that's the best revenge IMO!!

You'll always get some :eek: deadhead :eek: who is happy to sit down for hours picking his nose and trying to spam, and to be honest there will probably never be a 100% way to beat that but we think we're at least making it hard for them. :twisted:
