Thread: DMOZ down again???

Hey all, I just tried to submit a site to dmoz... my first time and i got an error saying:

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/add.cgi

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for dmoz.org

The dnsserver returned:

No DNS records

This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.

Your cache administrator is webmaster@dmoz.org.

Is the site not accepting listings again that anyone knows of?

Lol, thanks, I needed the laugh this morning. It's clear the site just wants to die and they keep putting it on life support, glad they're not my caretakers.

I just wish it would die with my link in it first LOL

Very odd! Yes seems to work fine my submission went in ths time. Maybe there server hadn't had enough coffee by my first attempt this morning???

I guess the server was sleeping and just got up...lol...how lazy it is!

if you don`t know any editers you have no chance quality gets rejected and the crap always gets in

I submitted my link to DMOZ, went back today to see hahaha, if it was accepted yet and it says at the bottom of the page I submitted to "Volunteer to edit this category" does this mean there is no editor for the section and my link will not have a chance until they find one?
