Thread: Wow!! I got PageRank 3 :)

I just looked at the pagerank and it is now showing pagerank 3 ... Its not very good pagerank but I am happy with that

I will work more for my site and hopefully next pagerank update will be higher than this.

Jani you are actually showing zero from here! I also recommend you read my article on "web directories food chain" if you want to monetize your directory.

No LaCabra.. PageRank is 3, I just checked it on http://www.prchecker.info and it is showing 3.

The reason why I made this directory is that I worked for a guy who made a directory so I know how directory works and making my own manual directory was just for fun but now its really a serious thing because people are really interested in my little directory too

I will definitely read your article and try to understand the directory business more.

Jani the issue is that a directory soley based on PR and links has no value. As soon as you lose your PR, what ever it may be, you're toast.

How is it possible?

Here I am seeing pr3 and you are seeing 0 mg:

I just checked it on http://www.digpagerank.com/ and it is digging PR from 47 data centers. and my pagerank is 0 on some of those data centres... may be thats the reason of this different pagerank.

rumors have it there may be a pagerank update in progress , that could be what is causing the flux

You're showing a PR0 from a lot of datacenters check here if you like, http://www.digpagerank.com/ You need to realize that results get called up from different datacenters like the link I've posted shows you. This will give you a better picture as to why you get differing results.

Great article LaCabra, and the points made are exactly where we should be looking to go. I'm going to post this on my forum if its exactly the direction we are going.

So what do you do if the pagerank site gives you mixed results? I have new site that I am optimistically hoping gets some PR and the results are 0 -3PR??? I guess it means I just have to wait but just thought I'd ask. (I'm not very patient LOL)

I have heard that the PR Update is still not completed, it is updating. I think we should wait for few more days to see the final accurate pagerank.

ehh i got a pr 2, then my pr4 dropped to pr3

kinda sucks cause i was hopping it would be pr of 3-5.

Hey kimmy if you were at 0 and you are seeing 3s then you will most likely hit a 3 ... so in the meantime head on out to the pasture and feed some cute little goats!!!

My toolbar is now showing the PR3! Yeah! It was all I was hoping for being a month old site :-) Happy, Happy Joy Joy!

Thanks, probably some of the best common sense approach to a 'real' business directory model I've seen; Great work.

@kdemonte: You are likely to get ups and downs with your PR for a week or so while the datacenters settle. You never know where you get routed by your ISP so which datacenter you hit first is a lottery.

I know some sites got PR6's and PR7's which were PR0...:eek:

Most of my sites stayed the same or dropped in PR. :evil:
The only increases I saw were for brand new sites.

That's how randon PR is iowadog, my phplynx.com site went from a 0 to 4 without any promo, the /index.php of my forum increased to the same as the static url and even internal pages given some rank, go figure. :eek:
