Ok, i guess the topic is old

But just in case someone would like to be interested I have written a blog post on Link Bid Directories: Concept Explained

Trust me, there is a little for everone

Thought and critcs are always welcome

Was in the process of writing such an article for my blog.
And then I found this.
Good explanation!

Now, I have a big choice, continue finishing out my article and possibly get accused of plagiarism or outright theft.
Or continue on and everyone will know it is my own article with my own thoughts, etc.

Or just forget that article!

What's the point in all these link bidded directories. OK, they are good and are based on a good concept, but that's only for the bid link directories that are unique and originally designed. I have seen about 50 or so of these directories that are using the exact same design and script and just may have changed the color a little. Now there is not much point in there being exactly 50 or more of the exact same looking bid link directories online.

Why?
My bidding web directory does not have some unique template.
Yet it ranks high on google for many different terms (by high, first page).

Some of the best and top rated directories on the net are plain janes.

If you want flash and dash, that is your opinion.

Your directory is slightly different to the ones I have seen, but is nearly similar.

When I say what's the point, I mean that you are more likely to get people wanting to purchasing bidded links if the directory has a unique design and it is also likely to get more visitors because of it.

I have actually bought a link on bigweblinks.com and another bidded directory that has a uniuqe design. I then went to find more directories and kepted finding the same designed directories and didn't bother bidding on them.

They just look like duplicate sites where the owner didn't have much time to customize their design.

It maybe just me, so I'm sure your directory is fine, but if I had a site, I like it to be unique and different from the rest. It is also likely to do much better aswell as visitors are likely to notice this. Imagin the whole web having millions of websites where they all had the exact same design and concepted.

Just my thoughts and others probably will have different opinions on this issue.

I didn't say I didn't like your directory. What I am saying really is that alot of people have bought paid to bid directory scripts and have just upload it to their servers and that is it. Now from looking at it from the advertisers side, it looks as if someone has bought a script and couldn't really be bothered that much in customizing it, so would they really be bothered in giving the customer a good service and good traffic.

I'm not saying this is what would happen to your directory, I am just saying that this is what an advertiser may think and is what I thought while buying advertising on these.

I have seen many reviews of other peoples forums on other forums and the amount that is using the default design. The comments that they get from others is that they should get a better and unique design rather than use the default design.

I totally agree and well that is where we have to distinguish between the good promoted ones and the ones that are there for the quick buck.

The thing about bid directories is that they are in true sense selling backlinks and PR.

If you are conservative about your investment (i am) you could wait for a google updated to determine which ones survive.

For a 1$ backlinks i would skip the look part as long as i am convinced that the directory is being promoted

Its hard to admit but bid directories are a business model by themselved with not much traffic value.

Yes, i am selling backlinks on my bid directory and i admit the fact.

Also for me it has become a integral part of my promotion program when i invest 200$ for 50-75 bid directory backlinks

I have to agree that using a unique template is the first step to standing out in a very crowded marketplace. A unique design does not accomplish anything on it's own but it does show that the owner is investing money in the site.
