Thread: Chose the right moment to make your directory paid only!

If a directory want to survive it has to earn some money!

Many of the free directories where I have submitted my sites, now are paid only.

I suppose some of the this directory owners are forum members here.

What was your experience?
Tell me how to chose the right moment, to turn a free directory to paid only.

I believe, if a directory have a free and paid option, almost everyone will take the free option. But if you make it paid only - you will have more success.

Am I right?

If you make it paid only you will get a lot less submissions. In order to be paid it 'should' have some decent PR on the main pages, inner pages as well, plus enough links and advertising that others will find it. Custom design helps a lot as well in my limited experience with directories.
