I don't bother submitting to them, I'd sooner pay for my listing. What about you?

free / paid only ... no recips so far .

I stay away from most directories, I never submit to any directory that has reciprocating code in their submission page, even if you get a listing without having to reciprocate.
Any directory that has a high percentage of reciprocal links (a high percentage could be anything over 20%) could be targeted as a link farm by the SE's!

Thanks for this information SS, I didn't know that!
My answer is bye bye.. window closed, site close.. I hate people forcing or asking for recriprocal.
I charge the same for regular or recriprocal in my directories and I care a daam if u want u give me a link, if dont want to don't.![]()

yes, i will submit to reciprocal link directories (free) and put all these links in one page. There will not be any links to that page from the site. If the reciprocal link checking is through some 'reciprocal bot' then we can succeed.
Because it will search for the reciprocal link code in the specidfied page.![]()

That is not going to do you any good if that page is on your main domain, it is still a mini link farm on your site!
Link farms get your URL banned.mg:

I don't submit to free or reciprocal directories.
Waste of time and energy IMO.
The only directories I submit to that have a good PR on the categories, and I know that the directory own is promoting it and it's not stood still.
even if its www.domain.com/link/link1/link2.html .. now link2.html has the links . okie enough ?
I never ever submitted to recip ones so asking . meanwhile nice info and thnx for it .

If you give links give them to relevant sites related to the content of your site as much as possible.
Use simple anchor text on regular links!
If you are using a directory script just don't work reciprocal links, keep your directory clean if you want it to rank long term!
You own some directories ( dunno much about you ) ... ??

Anyone can own a directory, start a thread and ask the members to give you data on the available scripts and you will learn more that way!
ah .. I was asking if you own a directory .. yes anyone can but i was asking about the url of urs if you own ( if you are okie enough to tell the url ) and i have the knowledge about the dirs ( less than you as i see = ( but the 3rd post in this thread ( by you ) was kinda interesting one .

Yes, but I don't work reciprocal deals with people to get a listing, I only list sites of high quality.
We could still use that new thread I mention, please start it because we are going off topic here!
I do submit to reciprocal directories but not very often I prefer free directories.

I never recip since it is such a bother to have to add a code to my sites.
As mentioned, free is good, but a nice directory with some page rank or where the owner does promote the directory, featured ads are best.
I have recips on my directories, but doubt so far that any of them have 10 at most.
i will consider a placement with link back if the site has a high reputation. it depends![]()

I do once and awhile, but normally I dont! Just is a hassle adding the link to my pages. Depends on what it is though.
No way. No submit. I've done it a few times to have the script not be able to verify the added link. What a waste of time. There are enough 100% free or low cost directories out there.
exactly!I don't bother submitting to them, I'd sooner pay for my listing. What about you?

No,never!
I don't like doing that,I'd prefer pay for a link on it.
Submitting to reciprocal directories can be an important PR strategy if ones budget is limited,...
How, there are a good number of high PR free reciprocal directories which are very uncluttered and have good inner page PR..
Doing reciprocal exchange for new directories is a good strategy, as they get revelant and good PR backlinks..
Being a paid directory owner, i have a lot of space to accomodate reciprocal directories
