Thread: Rand attacks Aviva

Rand Fishkin of SEOMoz attacked aviva directory by saying that they are not authority because they don't rank for the terms present in their title!

Well this is something very unusual done by rand! I kept and eye on this issue and came up with this post! Why rand's points are baseless? A person of rand's reputation should not speak like this. I guess he didn't do his homework correctly!

I would not worry about it too much.. The bashing will come back to bite... A Directories Goal is not to rank high in Google for its page title.. A good directories goal is to provide traffic to those that list, and destinations to end users.

Seems to me one of these may be failing at that and has found it easier to attack someone than concentrate on performing those goals.

I knew it would be coming..

Aviva attacked Rand's Page strength tool a few months back called it useless and a pathetic effort of making people pay for it..

So it is nothing but dirty mud slinging....

I'd call this Rand's opinion, not an attack.

Well they keep doing that with each other.. have made it a habit to sue somebody and get popularity...well what I believe that people of their repo shouldn't speak like that...at least in public..no never!

To be honest, if not for this forum, I probably would not have even known there was a tiff... I think it's been made out to be more than it really is..

Yeah thats true...and even loads more to come...when rand returns back from vacation...i guess that would be a time to watch...!!! :P
