    Default Keep an eye on you 1&1 Invoices!

    For those of you that use 1&1 as a registar keep an eye on your invoices to make sure they don't charge you for renewal of domains you've already transfered out.

    The just did it to me, the invoice comes and normally I just look at the total and make sure I have enough in my account to cover it. I glanced over the bill and noticed they charged me to renewal on 3 domains I had already transfered out to GoDaddy. This makes me wonder how many have slipped past me.

    I gotta say I always gripe about 1&1 but that's really slimy. I wrote to their customer service department and haven't heard back yet.. I cancelled the card they were supposed to charge so they cannot pull the money any how. :sgrin:

    wow...that's pretty low for a company like that to do (well low for anyone/company)...but even more so for one that size/well known.

    wonder if they do it on purpose, or if there is a flaw in their billing system...

    Unfortunately with most big companies like this it's how they make their money. Hence no response.. I'm sure if it was a question asking about a purchase then they would respond straight away.

    They count on most people never noticing. :sangry:

    yeah...it's a pity companies do this...

    i just recently got hit with one of those pay $1 and get all this things (and then may $50 next month...they forget to tell you that)...

    it's easy to tell they do it only to rip off the people that don't notice the charge next month, or don't bother to do anything about it...

    It's more the fact of how they do it. And using the internet they rely on people not reading TOS's (because who reads the whole thing.. I have because I edit mine!).. Then they get the first "Real" bill for say your $50 and there is NOTHING you can do about it because it will be worded into the tos :sangry:

    actually all the real companies that do this all you have to do is call them and they will usually refund it without blinking an eye...they don't care about the one or two people that notice the second charge...they just want to keep a good name and not get the bad publicity...so they usually don't even argue...

    (at least all the ones i've done haven't had a problem with it)...i do it on a regular basis just to get some of the free stuff that seems pretty neat...and always forget to 'cancel' before i get charged, lol
