    Default Expired Domains

I'm trying to get an expired domain name at the moment.

Anyone have any tips, guidelines, how long it will take, etc?

Currently the domain has been expired for about 2-3 weeks. I have it on 'back order' with a domain registar.

    The domain is dmoz listed

$369 and a lot of aggravation for a pr7 domain?

I would probably go through what he went through to get a pr7 domain.
Just to turn around and sell it for major bucks!

I guess he just fell in love with the name. Newvine were acquired by MSNBC after 2 years.

After registering I used the username: art.newsvine .com and wrote a couple of things. Didn't use it much, but one day I checked in and they tried to give me myfirstandlastname.newsvine .com

An email would have been nice. Haven't checked back in with them after that.

If the registrar where it was has a backorder service, you might have better luck. Sometimes they sell it off before the 45 day expiry time instead of it going to the domain drop. You can also try pool.com, they are very good about getting expired domains. If you don't get it, you can always approach the person who get's it, but you'll end up paying more.

The one thing I do not like about Pool.com is that they do not have listings of domains by pagerank, but other than that they are alright i guess...
