Thread: Google makes domain tasting less profitable

The practice where domain names are registered and deleted withing the five days grace period when a refund can be obtained from the registry (popularly called domain tasting) is quite profitable for some company.

They register the domain for 5 days, add adsense to the sites, delete the domain, get refund and make some money from Adsense.

Google is to announce that sites that are less than five days old many not display adsense anymore just to discourage domain tasters.

The hits are not mega hits but when you combine a few hits from hundreds of thousands of domains, it adds up to significant money, one company was said to make about $3 million dollars a month from adsense using this methord.

Google is beginning to implement this new system starting on February 11th I believe.. nice to see them taking action against domain kiting.

thats really considered short money. I wouldn't recommend anyone try this as the time and effort would be pointless. 3 million? doesn't seem real but hey i haven't seen it all.

I swear 1/2 of the sites i get to now are parked sites... fricken hate trying to find a new useful domain and its taken, and just a parked site!
