Thread: Who grabbed all these domains?

Had the bright idea to register my zip code.
Heck, found out all the zip codes are already registered in the .com, and most of the other tld's!

So who grabbed all those domains?

Then for true weirdness, I inputted my social security number.
9 numbers and guess what?
Someone has it in the .com and the .biz!

Has someone or some company snapped up all the number domains?
Regardless of length?

Probably travel companies, i put my zip.com and it took me to find a hotel, or business etc

my ss number is not taken

Weird..! who would have..? May be someone from the travel companies as Hurley4540 said or someone would have taken it for just timepass..! Like the ones who have taken these...!

Hi guys, you will find that many zip code domains have already been purchased many years ago, during the early days with domains short word-number domains were all grabbed.

If you really want to find out who owns them try looking at the following site, it is a database of who owns what names,

whois-search.com

I would imagine that it is likely to be Chinese webmasters. There are no domain names in Chinese characters. Therefore, the next best thing would be all numbers. In particular hose with an "8" in it. "8" rhymes with get rich rich fast in Chinese.

My post code is taken too. Home postcode all but .us is taken and the PO address postcode, all but .biz are taken. But our postcodes are only 4 digits

You buy a lot of domains don't you IowaDawg? I bet someone seen this and bought your soc. # special. Thinking that you someday will pay them $$$ for it. Kind of freaky and not too likely, but could happen. Mine is available to me. Next they are going to start a website about how they are taking over your life. I would keep an eye on that site bro.

Really all depends if that person or company who owns want to sell it!!

You can try all the usual haunts for selling domains, but you will also be very suprised if you did a bit of research ( not going to name the sites ) on a domain you may interested in.
