Thread: How can I convince someone to sell me their unused domain name?

Here is my situation:

I have a website: kansascityfantasy DOT com

For years I have been hoping the domain name kcfantasy DOT com would expire and I could purchase it. Within the last year the owner has stopped using the name and is now forwarding the name to another site. How can I convince him/her to sell me the name?

Show them the money

The owner will not reply to any messages I send through his site, or to the email address listed on the registration.

That may well mean that the person does not want to sell you could always call the persons bluff by talking dollars alternatively when does it expire? You could bide your time and wait (hope) they let it expire in the meantime the one you have got aint so bad.

You can usually dig out a phone number so pick up the phone and talk to them.

Most of time I see strange ph nos in whois like +1-0000000000 or +1-5555555555.

Most probably they get a lot of request and wanna sell high

Like me when I get emails about one of my domains.
If it is one I do not want to sell, I just delete those emails.

Could be the owner of the domain does not want to ever sell.
