Thread: Keep an eye on your 1&1 invoices!

For the second time in 2 months I've caught 1&1 charging me for domain renewals they shouldn't have. Last month I was charged for a domain I set to delete on expiration.

This month they charged me for a domain I transferred away from them over a year ago and have since let drop.

Both times they reversed the charge with a simple email. In their defense the rep who took care of me today went through and checked my whole account for domains transferred out but not canceled with them. It seems I got the one rep who actually gives two chits as my dealings with other 1&1 reps have been sub par at best. He found four other ones and wrote back cordially. So, I really cannot complain but it makes ya wonder how many other people don't catch it.

It really makes no sense to me..why wouldn't a transferred domain automatically cancel on their end. I mean really the only reason I can see is so they can continue to collect renewal fees for it.

Damn! I reg a domain with them just to try. Actually it was free .biz ..... made a paypal agreement ..... now are asking for scanned id proof .... WTF ... that for?

I would advise all dealing with 1&1 to always be very careful and make sure you do check invoices!!!

Another reason why 1 and 1 sucks.

I'd say this is the WORST registrar for domainers.
