I own this, I know there maybe be "TM issues" but maybe if it was used in "good faith" Jelsoft probably will not ensue me for it?

Well I believe CS got rid of it as it's too much trouble, why not just ask vbulletin themselves? Ask in general, see what they say, I believe they DO have a contact form....

He got rid of it because he 'didn't wanna deal with it' for POSSIBLE problems... sometimes I think people are way to conscious about possible "Tmed names" ...

I'm asking vbulletin in general so we can get a clear response, I'll let you know what they say, I didn't specify the domain name, just in general.

Here's your answer.
Yes, I'm afraid that would infringe our trademark and this is not allowed.

Hello,
vBulletin is a registered trademark and therefore it is not permitted to use vBulletin in domain names or site names.

Definitely would not try it. It's pretty evident it's against the law, this 'oh but it might be ok' is like saying I might not get caught robbing a bank. Doesn't make it right nor wise to do.

I'm no lawyer but I can think of three domains with vBulletin in their name. One I own but it's not well developed. The other two are vB help forums quite successful I might add
I know there's others out there. I'm not saying it's right just saying they don't seem to enforce their TM

According to the email I received from vBulletin, some forums with vBulletin in the title existed before vBulletin Bought Trademark rights. They did also add that they are stepping up their campaign to have sites forced to close down that are using the vBulletin name with out permission.

Thanks for asking Colleen and thanks for everyone else replying...

Ahh that makes more sense to me now. I was wondering why they seemed to only be enforcing the TM on new sites. I sure hope the guys who own good quality sites have a backup plan and implement it soon.
Aside from that I wonder why they've chosen to enforce it now. A majority of the sites only bolster vBulletin as a product with support and hacks. Why bite the hand that feeds you so to speak?
