We're thinking about offering domain name registration services, where is the best place to start that is affordable and not cost both my arms and legs? lol
All suggestions and recommendations are of course welcomed.

You mean like doing something that Godaddy does? Or just buying/selling premium domain names?
Like godaddy does, yes.
try this site cheap hosting $3.40/Month + free domain
I'm not looking to buy hosting or to actually buy a domain itself - you misunderstood the question. We sell webhosting and are looking to start selling domains (like godaddy & other domain registrars) so we are trying to figure out how to go about doing so, so that we can add domains to our services.
So you are looking at being a domain reseller?
I don't know a lot about it but there are a couple of places where you can sign up to be one. Enom has a program. I think eNom is the most popular one.
There is another one called SRS Plus. I don't know anything about them.
Here's one more named Reseller Club. Don't know anything about them either.
Doing a search on Google for "Domain Reseller" or "Domain Reseller Accounts" will point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Reseller club is decent!
Also you can try wild west domains .... owned by godaddy for resellers.

Reseller club is ok .
If you are looking for Enom reseller, you can try :
Hostgator.com - Enom
Still if you want to use the api aplication from enom, you have to upgrade. If not, you can manualy register any domains in your reseller
Go with Reseller club
This one is better.
The best way for you may be being reseller of some domain registration companys. For
example, godaddy or name.Either of them is OK.

Sedo in the most popular one i think ,also you can try godaddy

I think you should look into a VPS reseller package. I know my host (myhosting.com) offers pretty good packages and I haven't had a hitch yet.
Also quick question; why are you trying to get into that business?
A lot of places are quite dodgy for selling domains, Sedo has a bad name for themself i know a lot of people who have lost money or Sedo has done something dodgy and they've lost out. I just think if you do commit to domain sales, you should allow it to be auction based rather than broker.
