Thread: BEST place to register a Domain Name ??

Was just looking for other people's opinions: what is the best domain registrar??
I've registered a few domains in my time :energetic: using GoDaddy, but mostly 123-reg.
The only problem with the latter is that they tend to forget you've "opted-out" of the whois.

Any comments ??

I personally use TOSDomains.net for .com/.net and Netfirms.ca for .ca

I use namecheap.com

I use Godaddy.com and also whois.com

GoDaddy is the best, hands down!
They provide great services for very affordable prices.

I strongly recommend Namecheap, without a doubt.

While most of my domains are currently at Enom, I actually prefer to use GoDaddy.

I use 1and1.com. They seem to have the best prices that I have seen.

Name.com and namecheap.com.
Godaddy is notorious for poor customer service and domain locking.

I use name.com , dynadot.com , godaddy .

This 3 registrars are my recomandation .

name.com, namecheap.com, there are many good ones

I prefer namecheap. They have a very friendly and fast customer support which helped me always and fast when i needed them

I'm not sure whether it's the best place but I use NameCheap, it's a good registrar IMO.

It seems godaddy is the most popular and trustworthy one.

usually i am using yahoo domain, just $1.99

I use namecheap, which isnt cheap when your renewing your domains. Im thinking of transferring all of mine to dynadot as I have heard some really good things about the place as well as the support is really good.

I like DirectI domain service provider.

Hands Down Name.com is the best. They have promo's every month and .com's and .net's usually only cost me $8 - $8.25 including the private whois feature.

Don't know what is the absolute best. Godaddy is popular, they usually have some kind of coupon or promotion. The only drawback with of them is they try to sell you all kinds of other things during checkout. You have to go through several screens of things you don't want or care about just to purchase a domain name.

I agree better get it from established registrar for more security. Use namecheap or godaddy, they are the best.

I got to be honest, this is the first time I have heard of that company. I am not sure if that is a very reliable domain registrar. $5.99 is not bad though. However, for $3 more you can get your domain from more reliable companies like Namecheap and Godaddy.

To me it is still myhosting.com for domain registrations. They host my VPS packages and I think they are an industry leader.

No issues, great support, and dirt cheap domains. I vouch for them as they vouched for me in many situations.

GoDaddy recently released a press release saying they are going to increase prices I believe. Their prices are already so SUPER high for domains like .coms and .nets...Kind of bad news that they are increasing them again!

If they increase it by $1, they will be charging almost $9-$10 for a domain while better domain registrars out there are still charging UNDER $7!

I heard that Godaddy has bad name in poor customer service and I suggest whois.com. Even I am using that domain.
