Removed threads.

Should they still be visible as unread posts in your control panel?

Webmaster Discussion Forums is showing in mine and it isn't viewable. I first noticed it yesterday and thought it had been brought back, but I got the no permission error.

It's viewable, its just closed, not sure why you wouldn't be able to see it considering it's still in the forum lounge....

Perhaps cause a banned member started it, it's not visible, that's all I can think of, I haven't encountered this before...

i haven't seen that before either...maybe because he's in the tachy list? (i can't see any of his posts...and it's messing up the pages numbers in threads)

I'll trash the thread then since only staff can see it, thanks for alerting me to that, all threads started by him will have to be trashed in that case... no big loss to me, lol!

have you noticed the issue with the page numbers in some threads where he posted a lot?...it's still taking his posts into account even though no one can see them...so some of them have an extra page or two listed that just take you back to a previous page

not really a big deal though...just something i noticed

Yeah, tachey's always been well tacky. I used it a couple of times on my board and there's always something screwy with it. When you take the user off tachey all their posts show with the original date the posted thus you have members asking "How did I miss this" or my favorite "Dan the something's wrong with the site, fix it" with no other description. :eek:

FWIW, I've created a "Read Only" usergroup. Where the troublesome member can only read threads and PM. No posting at all. We also have an additional user group with no PM or email features so if someone is harassing others via PM we just throw them in that group.

IDK.. I just stuck my two cents in..

I don't use Tachy often, but when I do, they don't get out. It is just a quick way to get rid of all their spam.

We have several different usergroups set up for varying problem areas though

only thing i don't like about tachy is it screws up long threads....(i.e...if the person posted in a thread 40 times there will be 1-2 extra pages shown on the end of each thread...but they aren't really there....)
