    Default Not Getting Email Notifications

I don't know if this is the right place to post this problem. I am not getting email notifications to my posts even though my CP requests "instant email notification". Can someone please help?

It's possible aol considers email from the forum to be spam, can you check a spam folder?

AOL could be blocking the server, the IP or domain for some reason.

AOL is known for this, they block many online stores emails as well.

Best suggestion would be to use a google email account

Yeah, I've heard that too and it's a bugger to get them to remove it from their list, maybe we should block aol email addresses from signing up so others don't have this problem?

No, but perhaps we could put a note that some email providers such as AOL may block the emails.

Strangely, several notifications are now coming thru??? I think I will substitute a Google, Yahoo or hotmail address for AOL. Thanks for all the helpful responses.

I heard several webmasters complain about having the same problem with hotmail "blackhole-ing" their emails.

I think everyone should block AOL. I haven't like them since 1995 when I tried to cancel my account with them. Took me almost a year to get that damn account cancelled

    I had that happen TWICE!
Both times they refused to cancel me, charged me after I requested to be cancelled. Claimed I used the service when I didn't, simply a miserable experience.

Well, same experience here way back in the very early 90's.

But, I had the extreme experience of handling truckloads of their damn discs they mailed out daily.

But don't you just love people who sign up for forums, freebies, and so forth using an email address that has to be verified?
I get those all the time where for them to get their sign in information I would have to click to verify that I am okay to send them emails.

    I delete those.

I started using AOL when I bought my first computer in 1998 and I am so tied in with them re my emails that I don't know how to get out! My husband frequently complains about AOL being a pain and wants me to stop using it. I use Mozilla whenever I can.........
