Thread: If you advertise here, please read this

Ever since we upgraded the server to the current version of php and mysql, our campaign statistics software stopped functioning properly.

It started reporting like this for adviews:

02/17/2008: 24
02/16/2008: 24
02/15/2008: 24
02/14/2008: 24
02/13/2008: 24
02/12/2008: 24
02/11/2008: 24
02/10/2008: 24

Obviously, that's incorrect. That is taken from one of my own campaigns.

Due to this, I desperately need to upgrade phpadsnew to openads, hoping it will fix this problem but doing the upgrade, breaks the forum, I do not know why.

I need to install it fresh and re-add all the advertisers manually. I don't see an "email all" feature in phpadsnew in order to email all advertisers to tell them this, so I am putting it here.

I don't feel I have any other options but the fact it's reporting as above has gotten very annoying to say the least as it's totally inaccurate.

If I saw a report like that, I would know that 24 is waaaay low.
Not to mention the extraordinary event of the same number of page views every day.
(I think we'd have to call the pope or something for an exorcism on that one)

I have no idea what the fix would be. Openads is phpadsnew, they changed their name. Openads is the upgraded version to phpadsnew, another reason why I want to do this upgrade, to be up-to-date. I am versions behind.

By the way, Openads has renamed to OpenX

This is an issue with OpenX 2.0 when using MySQL 5.0.42 and newer. It doesn't affect OpenX 2.4 - the newest stable version.
If planning to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.4 - make sure to prepare backups and understand that a lot has changed - it is not a minor release (like 2.0.8 to 2.0.9)

If you wish to fix the issue within 2.0, please try the following:

in libraries/lib-log.inc.php, change a number of occurences of

day = NOW()

to

Code:

day = CURRENT_DATE
