Reputation and "Thanking" Someone

This is going to seem like a stupid question, but in the UserCP it has a listing for people that "Thanked" me; is that the same as reputation?

I'm 99% sure it is, but it's just a transitioning verbage issue...

Ugh, I can't delete the above post...

Now that I've got 20 posts, I see the "Thank" and "Groan" buttons... So they are different things I guess...

Yeah, thanking people appears after 20 posts or so I think (might be 25...can someone confirm?)

Thanking gives a small amount of rep (not sure how much) but you don't have to wait till you've "spread the rep around" before thanking the same person again (but it needs to be on a different post).

I'm sure someone else will know more than me about it.

Same thing, different values, but both add to your overall reputation.. Thanks adds 2 rep points I think and the standard +rep adds various amounts depending on the givers reputation power..
