Why can't we edit our post so long after we post?

Can't you make it so we can edit it however long after we want?

Why would you need a long edit time?

In case you wanna come back and add something in.. just convenience

No, because then people can alter things and if anything were to happen, and no staff were on to see it, we'd have no proof, it's like this for everyone's best interests and I believe it's set so you can edit it for up to 5 or 8 hours, that's a lot of time if you ask me.

I think its WAYYY less than that. I just tried to edit one I posted earlier today :X

I will look into it then but it's never going to be removed altogether, that's just a GREAT way for people to go back and add spam to old posts.

Think about things from a forum owners perspective sometime and maybe you'll see where we're coming from.

Yeah I know your points, just wondering why it is only to like 10 mins and whatnot

It was set to 30 minutes, it was supposed to be more, it must have accidentally got changed, it's 5 hours for now, which is what I thought it was. We'll see how it goes.

Ok thanks, it shouldnt be bad with 5 hrs now

Not to mention, if you need to add something that long afterwards you can just post again.

That's why we automerge, it will automerge for up to 24 hours so it's no big deal to do it here.
