Thread: Upgrade, Please Read

We will be upgrading the forum shortly to vbulletin 3.7.3 and this is just a warning in advance about a change which will come about as a result.

Username=Password Disallowed

In this release, users will no longer be allowed to set their username and passwords to the same value. Users who already have a password that is the same as their username will be forced to change their password on their next login. Additionally, a tool has be added to the Admin Control Panel to email affected users with a new password. Please be aware of these potential compatibility changes when upgrading.

If there turns out to be affected users I may just go ahead and use the new tool to send out new passwords.

I thought the same thing by telling the admin who uses their username as a password is essentially telling the admin the password but the tool itself is smart. It only tells you the number of members who are using their name as the password and gives you the option of sending new passwords to them, you never see the user names.

I thought Zap meant who would use their username as their password, ie; him calling them "tools" in the process.

This thread is so funny When I was in about grade 8-10 friends and I used to swap our passwords on myspace and bebo, or just use the same myspace, stupid now but at the time, it didnt matter. School mates not randoms.

It's happening momentarily.

Colleen added 27 Minutes and 2 Seconds later...

Upgrade is complete.

All those with their username as their password have been sent a new password.
