Thread: WTF: New Design coming soon

I have contacted my friends over at ForumSkin to get a design going for us. They do great work and have made skins for me in the past. They already started on the design and will be finished soon. they take about 2 - 3 weeks on average per project.

Ill post more information as we move along.

I know a new brush sweeps clean and all that, but the current design can't be more than a year old. I quite like the current design.

Hey CB,

The current design is a nice template and I like it as well. But, you can purchase and use it for any forum. Its not unique to us and I feel that we should have a fresh start and a custom design so that we start over on the right foot.

It should be great. I also like this design but a custom theme would help us more.

Will the current theme still be available to optionally use?

I concur, a custom design would be great for WebTalkForums to have...I look forward to seeing your vision complete to fruition. Should be great!

Would this new template have any unique features we could look forward to, or is it simply just aesthetic?

when it going to be launched

just an update for everyone. The design should be done soon. Here is the response from forumskin.com

Our artist still haven't finished the layout for the forum home but I think it will be finished this week and then they can start the postbit sections after that. So just to give you an estimation for the draft preview, it will be next week probably on Thursday.

Once the design is ready , The rest of the major changes will follow. Keep your eye out for the changes. Cya

Ok who cares, is the old theme (the current one) going to be available to use?

That hasn't been decided yet. We wanted to fix it before we could bring it back. I like it and will work to fixing the few errors it has. I see that quite a few members like it so we will make the effort in keeping it around. Whats with the who cares? hope you have a good day dwhite.

To answer your question, no, this current design was the one implemented after the forum was updated to the new VB version...this template is a standard one.

I believe Steve is working on a new custom template which we are all looking forward to seeing it.

The new design template has not been implemented yet, but I am certain we will all find out about it once it is fully implemented and fully functional.

Thanks for your reply. When I saw that we had a new design commissioned, I was a bit confused; this is not a bad design, but it's obviously 'standard', a template, like you said. Thanks for clearing it up. I cringed when I thought that this design was purchased.

I would cringe too at the fact that someone would have payed for this current template...although it is very clean and professional.

I heard the previous owner comment that this current design was an easily obtainable one, not sure where he obtained it, but made it seem like a template that anyone can get.

So the new custom template, still in the works, is definately something great us WebTalkForum members could look forward too.

Cool stuff. I like the design of this forum already. It's very welcoming!

I think the Logo should also be changed. The smiley face is not that good idea. It does not have proper connection with the forum. I would like to see a new logo too.
