Server Reboot

One of our members is having speed issues with WTF. To try to overcome this I have enabled gzip compression, this will cause more of a load on the server but the .html output will be reduced. This should cause the forum to load quicker.

I do have to test some sites out however to make sure it's not effecting anything else on the server. If anyone has problems, issues, etc please let us know about it.

This is also why the server was down for a few minutes, had to reboot

yeah I clicked on "unread post" in the top left. I thought that meant 1 unread post in a thread I wanted to read.

Must simply be because of your slow connection then as now it's saving a bit of download time from page to page

Bah, my main server I try to reboot once weekly. I like the speed increases and just making sure everything is going good.

Yeah it was getting a bit slow for me as well. No idea why, memory/cpu usage was at a minimum.

Bah I'd actually like my servers auto rebooted once a week!
Rather the 2-3 minutes of down time for more reliable/faster service

Been close to 10 days since this server was rebooted. Since it's a dead Sunday I think it's time for a reboot

We were aware of it

Contacted server provider, they claim all is well. It's fixed whatever it was.
