Not really, but I'm sure God helps people when living. When you 'ask' something from God, it gives you an extra effort to succeed in things. I'm currently creating myself a little funny monster that will act as my personal God. It should help me in my further life as it will be something I believe in

I think God does intervene and he answers prayers, but sometimes he doesn't intervene. It all depends. If your prayers are in accordance with his will, he will answer your request. He also gives us free choice because he didn't create human beings to be robots. He wants us to choose and he inspires us to make the best choice.
