    Default TV Causes Informational Overload?

Hi! I just want to share my observations about modern TV - there is tremendous stream of information coming from the screen. I can't watch TV more than an hour a day because my brain begins to "boil" from the amount of the information! I think there are too many shows and advertisements on TV that it can be harmful for our mental health. What do you think of it?

    Television rots your mind.
    It's a scientifically proven fact.

    Hi,

Is this info coming from the same scientist that said don't eat eggs and don't smoke

I am so glad I do not own a TV. I watch all my shows online on the computer while I type at forums.

Sure, the amout of information that comes from a TV is so huge that even adults can't cope with. After watching some news or documentaries, I have a headache.

Talking Re: TV Causes Informational Overload?

That is why when I do watch TV, which is rare, I only watch science fiction or fantasy shows and movies.

I refuse to watch the news, they only promote the bad in the world. Was watching the news one day and litterally the first half hour of their news broadcast was:

This person got shot, this one stabbed, this one ran over, this one jumped off of a building, taxi driver mugged and shot, foreclosures up, global warming, BP still pumping oil, Linday Lohan...etc.

Come on now, I have enough going on in my own life and reality...

Much rather have TV take me to a magical land, expose me to some X-files and allow me to enter into the twilight zone....people need an escape from reality sometimes or your mind will overload.

I completely agree that TV sucks.

It sounds so much useless with internet and computers nowadays.
