ok so there are a couple minor things i want to get edited fixed on my forum however

if i was to hire someone how would i know my forum is going to be safe giving an outsider details on login for forum and so on?

By hiring someone reputable and well known who isn't willing to risk their reputation just to mess with your stuff.

it is hard to find someone like that i was suggested to find someone at DP lol

not dissing them but with all the scammers there i cannot take the chance

There are some safeguards you can take.

Create a separate user account for FTP access and give them access to only the folders where that domain is hosted. If your on a shared hosting account with multiple domains then this is a good idea as they have no need to access your other sites.

Create a separate user account for phpMyadmin access.

If they need access into your hosting account user panel then find out if you can create users there too. Some hosts let you do this. Keeps them from being able to change passwords and lock you out of your own account.

If you can't create user accounts for your hosting account then you definitely need to be able to trust whoever you are hiring.

When they are finished their work you can always close their accounts and lock them out. and change your passwords on any access you granted them where you could not give them a separate user account.
