Postbit imo are the thread templates of vbulletin where posts are shown or page with showthread.php?t=14445 ........ this page exactly.
Don't know the diff between two infact never knew there are two types!!
Postbit is the area where your avatar and post is located. Vertical postbit means that avatar is on left of post info and a horizontal postbit means that all info is located above your post.

Yeah, just got told that vertical is when the avatar/profile info is to the side of the post and the other one is when it is across the top of the post. I got confused because vBulletin calls it "legacy" not vertical.
i13-uh it isn't restricted to just vBulletin, its in almost all forum softwares. And there are different types

Alrighty ! How to change forum(Vbulletin) layout to vertical? Is it in theme options?

Yep, under Style&Language settings, it will say Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template. Select Yes and it will be vertical![]()

Thanks got it![]()

I believe your users really should have the option to switch it, as we have here.

+1.
I'd give mine the option but I'm too lazy to keep up yet another set of templates.mg: I've read that you can just copy the style set it as a child of the original and swap out the postbit and postbit_legacy templates and have it work like that.. Is that how it's done here?
Just wondering, I don't think I'll implement anytime soon or at least until someone complains.![]()

You don't do anything like that, it's one style being used, you're simply allowing people to choose the postbit via a plugin. All you're doing is also editing the other postbit within the same style to look however you want or you can even leave it as is and still let people choose it.
