Contest Sponsorship

I'm thinking of running a contest or two on my forum. I have no cash so I think I'll try and find a sponsor or two for the contests.

What would people typically want in return for sponsorship? Would a link saying "Contest sponsored by" be enough, or would they want something more?

How does that work?

Anyone have any experience finding sponsors for a contest?

That should be good enough. Just state clearly what you will give to the sponsor (links, where, how long, etc.) and there shouldn't be any issues.
When you're announcing the contest, you should post about it in your forum and send out an e-mail to your members and include the sponsor in both.

We have sponsored several contests in the past. What we usually get in return is a link in the contest announcement, as well as a backlink somewhere on the site (Blogroll, etc...). Hit me up if you need a sponsor, I can offer a free web hosting account, etc...
