[Tutorial] How to put favicon on a phpbb forum?

Hi all,

I just put a favicon on my phpbb forum and I thought I should let others know how to do it.

1. Go to this site http://www.iconj.com/generator.php

2. Upload the favicon.ico file in there

3. They will generate two codes, you should use their direct linking code

4. Put their code on your "Overall_header.html" file and upload it.

5. Go to ACP > Purge the cache

That's it

Note: If you don't know how to make a favicon you can get it done easily from this website Favicon Generator | Make Free Favicons | Create a Favicon.ico Design

Can't you also just plug the favicon.ico in the root directory of the vb install?
Your browser should auto-load it.

Yes I tried it

First I uploaded the favicon to the root directory, but it didn't work

Then I uploaded it to the /forums directory, but again it didn't work

Then I uploaded the favicon to the /forums/images folder but it didn't work (I read about it on a site).

Then I found on the net about this method which I mentioned above. And it worked
