New Post problems

I am having a few problems with the "New Post" link on my forum. I notice on this one, when you click new posts you get a list of all the posts that you have not yet read.

Once you click one of these and read it, it disappears from the list next time you click it. On my forum when I click a link in "new posts" and read it, it does not remove itself from the new post list, it just changes from being bold to normal. Any idea's why this is? Also sometimes, new posts disappear from the new posts menu before I have read them.

Does anyone know what is causing this please?

VBulletin Options > General Settings > Thread/Forum Read Marking Type > Select Database (automatic forum marking)

My coder told me that this method is most server intensive, so its up to you
