Minimum Characters Per Post - vB question

I have the Minimum Characters Per Post set at 15 for the entire forum. But I have one specific category where I'd like to disable it, or at least reduce it to 5. Is there any way to do it?

I don't think that there is. I'm sure it can only be set globally across the whole board. Unless their is some sort of plugin over at vbulletin.org

Honestly, 15 characters minimum is a really good way to kill a forum and if it's not your own forum, I'd ask the owner first if that's ok, I'd definitely NOT be ok with that, I would not do such a thing just cause of some possible spam I might get and I've never heard of a per forum setting anyway.

I agree - I know of some forums where they have long minimum characters required for posts and it can be such a pain in the butt. Especially when playing a game, for example the change a letter game on here would be a nightmare with this in place. I got fed up with the forums that had this in place and stop using them. It's a sure way to annoy your members that's for sure.

Hence why she is asking for a solution for a different section :P 15 is reasonable in discussion areas.

I know what she is asking, and I have already explained that this is not possible and so has Colleen. I was merely commenting and expanding on what Colleen has said.
