vBulletin Reducing Spam Registrations

I wrote this for my ForLog but I will post here also just as I believe that vB users are better off without Image String verification. I hope you like.

Not sure how this will work under forums running vBulletin 3.7...

So for the last few weeks I have been playing around with the Human Verification on this vBulletin. I have found two interesting results.

1. Spambots LOVE Image Verification now
2. They are bloody smart and are good at deciphering (as half are actually paid humans to join thousands of sites a day the bots do the work with the usernames at a later date)

So what is the deal behind those two results? For starters I would have thought that the Image Verification would have clearly been enough to confuse a spambot. However, image verification almost draws them quicker than not having verification at all.

I also popped up a few trial Q&A verifications and found that spambots deserve more credit than they are given!

Question 1 was:
What does a forum + a blog =...
Unfortunately this left some prospective members confused as this is kind of the first ForLog! I got no spam joins in this time however.

Question 2 was:
What do the letters "B|A|T|M" spell? (Not including the " or |)..
For this question I received 2 joiners and changed within 12 hours to the one I am using now. They can quite clearly tell to remove the " and |

Question 3 IS:
This is BatM's ForL-- (Two letters missing. what are they?)..
Now that seriuosly can't be that hard... OG
Since updating the question this time around I have had no spam joinups. It has been this way for about 2 - 3 weeks now
