How do I stop these idiots from posting links that lead to malware sites?

My vbforum is new and already people are posting links to sites that have malware. WTF can I do about it?

On another forum I tend to just delete the offending party, no warnings.

You don't want to have to manually track them down & delete them. What anti-bot strategies do you have in place? I use a 2 tiered image verification + are you human question as well as email activation. It keeps the bots out. I have had a couple of real people sign up & use member details to send spams but I found a mod to block email details & banned both accounts straight away.

I am using SMF 1.1.8

Simply block their IP. That is what the big forum owners do.

I'd look into using the IP list provided by Stop Forum Spam - Forum Banlist - they provide a list of IP's of known forum spammers that you can use to block access.
