Forum Jump Menu - How many use it?

I'd like to conduct a little unscientific study here. How many people use the forum jump to move from forum to forum?

Forum Jump Menu: The drop down list of forums just above the footer.

Almost never. I think I've used it 2 or 3 times in all the time I've been on forums.

I'm a heavy user of the links at the bottom of each thread to navigate through the forum.
(That and the unread posts link in the top right corner)

Anything on the bottom of each page, I have yet to see.
Or remember seeing.

Never in my case.
That is what tabs are for....just open up every forum and go from there.

"New posts" or "search feature to navigate around

Dan, do you know if it takes a lot of queries to produce it? Since it's not being used, I think we should remove it from the theme.

On VB org or vb forums somewhere its mentioned that it should be turned off for optimizing VB board. So I beleive you can turn it off...

I believe it only uses one cached query but it outputs a lot of wasted HTML if no one is using it. vB is heavy enough for rendering w/o a 30 + item drop down list.

There is in an option in vBulletin options to disable it. I also ran this poll on my forum, I got about the same result it's rarely used. I'll be disabling it there.

I've disabled it on my board and the pages load noticeably faster. I'm not sure if the server is serving them faster or my browser is just able to render the page faster.

I removed it from my forums too. It's just a waste.
Too much irrelevant html gets put on the page. which hardly anyone uses.

I use it sometimes, but usually the places I go in this forum are in my browser already (Opera opens them up automaticly for me...) so theres no need.

Although i've started using the "New posts" thing more often now.
