Thread: Link from same IP and From different is that matters?

Hello there,

I have a question. Can anybody tell me, what is the loss or benefit ?? ..Getting links from same IP and getting links from Unique IP. Is there any affect in the Google page rank or or in Google SERP??

Need a quick reply guys.

The ip address is one of hundreds of metrics google uses to measure the quality of links. A variety of IP addresses for incoming links is definitely a good thing, but if you are building quality links over time, this shouldn't really matter.

Every link is another extra link you get Google just gives less weight to them but whatever Don't think too much about it IMO, it's just one of their thousands algorithms..

I don't think IP matters - the reason is because you can have thousands of sites hosed on a single server with the same IP address. All these sites are treated individually which means that any link from those sites are count as good links from different domains.

The same applies to indexing, Google does not index according to IPs,instead it uses domains.

I don't worry too much about IP addresses and yes who care if some of them carry low weight. Links are links. I think as long as the link is relevant that matters more than if it's an irrelevant link from a site on a different IP.

Right and Google knows this. They understand that hosting companies do this all the time because IP addresses can't be wasted.

It's doesn't matter...

Concentrate on building quality links for your site, Don't think to much on IP's..

The main reason google uses IP address is to give sites located close to you geographically and or having links from site geographically close to you. I have tested this and can see that if i get link from .uk sites then my serp at google.uk bumps up higher than google.com

I dont think its really a problem. Try getting links with different domains. Variety must be a good thing.

Dont think that is important ! What matters is to have LINKS !

100 Links from same IP will not harm your site. But 20 links from different IP will help to increase PR & keyword rankings of your site in SERP.

Getting links from the same IPs means that you own those websites or you have relation with it, so that's why google doesn't count it, because there is no point for you to vote for yourself.

Incorrect. Google does count them for starters. Simply having the same IP also means nothing on the surface as many hosting companies server dozens/hundreds or more sites from one single IP

Hosting multiple sites on the same IP has become the standard since 1998 or 1999, I think. Google understands this is done to prevent IP addresses from being wasted.

in my personal oppinion i don't see any problem, the issue is just that those comments come with a spam link, but if those comments are clear, no problem
