Thread: URL Optimization - Little confused

Hello Everybody,

Hope you guys are having a great time. Guys I need your opinions caused I'm little confused.

I am improving rank of a website with some keywords on Google. Now this is fine. I am targeting the home page url for the search engine and I'm only working with home page url. But there is a keyword. When ever I search in the google with this keyword it shows an inner page instead of the home page. Now I am confused why this is happening?? And I didn't find any answers yet.

Guys Need your help. :unsure:

Try checking the number of backlinks to each page. The 'inner' page might simply have more links pointing to it which could explain why Google considers it to be of higher authority than the other. Also, is there more content on the 'inner' page than the home page? Google likes content.

the inner page may be seems as the better page as its content focuses purely on and around that keyword whereas your home page is likely to include many more topics.

that’s my best guess, that and the number if links, wither way be happy and keep optimising the inner page to the top then the home page could go second
