Default Website Tool Help Need some Answers

    Hi,

I am looking to branch out with a new site something in a completely different niche then I have done before.

    I have a few questions?

1.) Please think back to your first site. When you wanted to let people know about your site (promote it) and you knew nothing about the word SEO what did you search for?

2.) What webmaster/Seo tools did you use the most?

3.) What tools do you still use today online?

4.) What tools do you feel would just take up space on a site and never get used?

5.) I am looking for stuff that is not on every tools website in the world any ideas?

    Thanks in Advance

It was before Google and SEO even existed. I can't even remember that far back and even if I could everything is an entirely different ballgame now. I learned about SEO the minute it was invented so I didn't have that phase of trying to promote a site without knowing about it.

Early on I used auto-submissions. I also submitted my site to many web hosting directories early on in the game.

Semi-automated directory submissions. Social bookmarking. Forum announcements where they are allowed. Trading links with webmasters in forum marketplaces.

Manually Googling for sites like mine and sending personalized e-mails webmasters (or using their contact forms) to ask for link trades. I prefer 3-way trades. I know that's not a tool but it works and there could be a tool which organizes and tracks link requests/trades.

The same tools as every other site.

Even if you go with the same tools as everyone else's sites, make yours better. Give your tools more features than the competition. Make them load faster, too. Also see my answer to #3.

However, if you're going for the webmaster niche, the payout is very low from what I hear. Ask people you know in that niche.

    Hi,

I am working on the lines of #3 already

A tool which organizes and tracks link requests/trades. That would be something different.

Most sites are all the same so I am working on something different.

Still want all the ideas I can get. Just in the planing stages. Only have two scripts so far.

It would take quite a custom script followed by regular maintenance as things change.
