Thread: Is this possible?

Hey everyone,

I am pretty new to this webmaster stuff. In fact, I am not a webmaster at all but rather someone who is looking for help in relation to websites. I play a video game which involves controlling many army guys and I would like to give cool names for each of my players. My question is, is there any way in which I can obtain a list of all the username/account names on a website or a forum? I want to try and do this so I can get ideas of cool names for my tens and hundreds of guys without individually going through all the "A" names, "B" names, etc. Say I wanted to gather every single username on a site such as basilmarket- is there a scanner or some type of way I can gather a list like this? I'm in no way asking or even trying to steal anyone's password, and I am not sure if this is considered "malicious" or not.

basically if you are looking for ALL USERNAMES of any webmaster forums, then it is not possible unless you have access to their database. All you can do is sit and get some name manually.

If you manage to get database somehow, then this is the command:

use databasename;
select username from users;

that should do it.

I would be very surprised if you was allowed access to the database as that would give you the details, not just the usernames, of the forum members...

It is not possible...and if you make it possible somehow it's illegal.

Why do you only want the usernames of a forum. Infact, if you are just looking for the names's database then check out some sites which gives name recommendations of a girl or blog. You will get plenty of names there.
