Thread: Love Being a Webmaster?

I am a relatively new webmaster, my first site has been live online for 1 year. Within that one year however, I really think that being a webmaster suits me well.

I know there are many different types of webmasters around worldwide, I would like to know, how do you feel about the being the kind of webmaster that you are?

Yes! Surely i love being a webmaster! one of the most influential jobs over Internet which appetite level never ends

I voted Yes, Suits Me Well I Think!

I love it when I started. Now, it has become a job for me. My blogs are like having two year olds around all time. You constantly gotta watch them. I guess that is why I call them my babies. They never let you sleep, they lose people if you don't feed them, with new content daily.

They give you a good feeling as you watch them grow.

I could go on on this for a while but I think you get the idea.

I love it. I own a business and I think developing the web site has been a long journey that I really enjoyed.

Of course the cheap prices my host and the help they gave me really made me biased in my decision. It took time to get to where I am but I think it is well worth it.

It has become a passion as flowers have.

Yes, I agree that being a webmaster is great, it allows me to sleep in all day and stay up all night, which is what I normally do anyways

That is great sami, since I just started I really cannot consider this another career for me, but I sure do love and enjoy being a webmaster.

Click it.

Add a comment hit submit.

Now on the right are the Categories.

Looking for a certain celebrity use the search box type in the name if I have a post on that person it will come up

Lol, yea after 12 years I could imagine that you pretty much have your sites well established, I always hear people say that things always change.

But I really think that the general basics will always remain the same

True, but some things are so different it's ridiculous. SEO was totally different in the late 90's. It was much easier for one thing.

I can see how that can be true, wow the 90's I cannot even remember or even knew if any kind of social media sites existed back then.

LOL, I remember when ICQ, Netscape Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and there was another one but I cannot remember now. I only started using that one anyways because this cute girl had told that she uses it back in high school lol. Probably why I do not remember.

I used Lycos, AltaVista and Excite before Google was available.

Being a webaster and making a living from it is the best thing in the world. You get to work from home. and that's amazing imo.

I wouldn't really consider myself a webmaster, and I don't really enjoy doing webmastering stuff (i.e. trying to make money out of self owned sites).

I'm more a web developer than anything else (as that is my job title at my company...).

Oh Cool tsdesigns, so you actually work as a web developer for a company? I can only imagine the kind of demand that that requires. I commend you, I only have 2 sites and I have a hard time keeping with the 2.

But it is very interesting finding and interacting with all the difference various kinds of webmaster and/or web developers all over the world. Here on WebTalkForums

Yeah, I code websites for a living and love it! I work on different sites every week (and sometimes different ones every day), so I think thats why I like it much more than working on the same site (or group of sites) all the time.

I used to be a student studying it, but I recently got employed to do it for a Web Design company (MTC Media - I know their site doesn't look amazing considering they are a web design company, but I believe they are working on a new one).

Thats my main interest (and why I joined this forum and many others in the first place), but owning sites and marketing them (i.e. what I consider webmastering) doesn't really interest me that much.

Yes being a webmaster is so much fun and so enjoyable as well but it has its challenges and fall backs also as with most things.

I'm jealous of your coding skills! I am horrible at coding. Coding a template with CSS is so difficult for me. I am still using old school tables for all of my templates!

:angelic: Maybe sometime you can code some of my .PSD templates I have?!? Haha! Seriously though, I really need to start perfecting coding web sites. Been trying forever with books from Barnes&Noble to Googling to reading from my host's forums. All really helpful but each template is so different that it is hard to adapt!

I think being a webmaster is what you make out of it, it can be fun, it can be boring, it can be exhausting, its up to you to make it work for you!!!

I dont mind it too much!!! LOL

I've been a webmaster for almost 15 years and loved every minute.

Being a webmaster is definetely great! I like it much better than working in the office.

Not really, it's a bore having to go through the hordes of emails (spam) hoping for a genuine enquiry from someone

Can't really claim to be a "webmaster" maybe cause the word "master" (expert)!
Can claim to be a "web Philomath" love learning new stuff and trying to use them!
