Unhappy Advertise Hotspot hacked, lost 50.000 posts

    What's Happening To Advertise Hotspot?
Yes, that's the question that is going around. Well, as the owner and administrator of Advertise Hotspot, it is with sad news, that we have been "hacked". We lost over 50,000 posts. We urge all members, staff or not, to please, change their passwords.

We suspect that the hacker managed to figure out a staff member's password, and went around deleting posts, and banning members. We also suspect that the hacker not only managed to hack in one staff member's account, but 3.

In the midst of the ongoing investigations, we hope that all our valuable members stay with us, and just bare with this matter while its still undergoing investigations. We thank you in advance.

Special thanks to all of Advertise Hotspot members, staff members, who have been constantly supporting the forum, helping out, and living up to the "Advertise Hotspot" name. Without all of you, Advertise Hotspot wouldn't even be possible. Although this made us lose over 50,000 posts, i still love all of you, and thank you personally.

I really can't belief after Forumasion it would happen again but then to advertise hotspot by the same people! Tanya and Olivier, I find this very sad, advertise hotspot was one of the best forums I know of its kind. I think it all happened yesterday, I got on and was quite shocked

It's really sad to hear that a hacker can destry something like that I am sure the community will be behind you to bring it back to 50,000 posts again.

That sounds horrible, I hope your host has backup, because 50,000 posts is a lot of data to be wiped out just like that

It where 2 hackers, and belief it or not they have done it before. This is the second BIG community they destroyed completely I KNOW OF.

And I am not the owner, I am just a very old member, I have seen the site "Grow Up" with figure of speech, meaning I been a member there from its early stages. Seen what was going on and how the site became bigger and bigger.

Sadly those 50 000 posts are lost because a person, admin didn't have a password strong enough to hold off hackers. Its to late now but such a great place is now gone. They use a free host forumation so that option is not possibe.

Again a reason to never choose a free host people.

    The site btw: http://www.advertisehotspot.com/
