Thread: Spam email bypasssing IP address

I am an web programmer of a reputed organization. In our website we trace IP address of the users. Recently we have received one enquiry details of a customer through our Contact Us form, where the IP address has been replaced by the customer's email id. We understood that the customer has used some system to bypass his IP address. When I searched the email id on net then I found some serious notes written about that particular email id. I found the following notes written about the email id:

[ Stay away from this company and all of their other fake companies. They are a dangerous scam. They will blackmail you and threaten to ruin your search results and good name. They use a lot of different company names
and phone numbers. All of their sites offer the same service.They offer to do all of the work before they get paid. This is a scam. They will blackmail you. They will create hundreds of websites and blogs with your name. If you ever stop paying them they will change all of these sites to say you are a liar and a cheat. These are very dangerous people. ]


1) Can anyone help me how we can get rid of this kind of fake entries in our website?
2) What are the possible damages this people can do to our website?
3) Our website is written in asp, so can anyone guide me how to trace the IP, in this type of cases, where people are able to bypass the tracing of IP address?

The email enquiry form should have the ip address, if that fails you can check the access logs for the ip address of the date and time matching the user, then make a complaint to their isp with your findings
