Thread: planning to outsource a web development, how to deploy?

I'm planning to outsource a web development for one of the subdomain.
I'm wondering how the deployment will work. I'm assuming the developer will come back with php and mysql codes.
For mysql, I could just import to my hosting environment. but, how would it work for php files, wouldn't the link and mysql connection get screwed? I'm concerned as the developers I've been speaking with has not asked anything around structure of the existing website and name of the sub-domain.

i am a webmaster.

so here is my trick:
copy your mysql, then you can develop your subdomain without any risk.
then after development has finished, you can put your original mysql.
that's simple..
