Thread: Best Remote Backup Solution for Wordpress and Drupal

Maybe someone here can help us with this...

We are a marketing firm that has several Wordpress and Drupal sites that are hosted by various hosting companies (GoDaddy, HostGator, etc), and we need a backup solution that can backup both clients remotely, without being installed on those servers, and can put the backups on another server.

This means backing up files and databases.

We also need the ability to restore those backups quickly and efficiently. Most of the sites are not very big, so we are looking at a maximum of one hour to restore or backup.

Can anyone recommend a solid solution that can handle all manner of PHP/SQL/MySQL websites?

There are a couple of good plugins for wordpress, that can do the job for you.
They are
"WordPress Backup to Dropbox" and "BackWPup"

Well for drupal I use a module called backup and migrate, it basically takes a backup of your database and stuff.

then copy the content from your server to a local drive.

problem for me is I always need to do an hour of checking and rechecking if everything got restored correctly
