how can i hold the SERP position without sliding down... Does it mean i have to keep on building backlinks ?

You would need to keep building links, once people discover your keywords and start targeting the same keywords, they will out rank you. So, one way to stay there and not get pushed off is to keep the campaign on.

You should keep good keywords and analyze them all the time, then links, then articles submission and social bookmarking. You work on your site all the time doing onpage and offpage optimization.

Thi is a good question. I need to figure out a better system and come up with a marketing plan. I know that building back links can help you maintaing rankings. I have been article marketing and building back links to my articles so they maintain thier SERP position.

I think you should, just continue on creating quality backlinks. of course, your competitions are still wanting to beat you, if you happen to stop building backlinks, there is a possibility to down your rankings

Just try to get links from sites related to your theme. Your ranking will remain stable.

Not totally sure what you're saying here. You seem to be mixing things up though..

one of the most important thing (which i read) is about social bookmarkings and keeping your social media accounts with fresh content with the links from your website.

I do this for my news/blog website and i am getting each week more backlinks (i mean i do not spend money for backlinks)

I am getting more interest from my websites followers/fans and they are bookmarking the pages.

link building is a continuous process. you need more at the beginning but still need some even after you are ranked high to make sure you dont slide. or competitors dont outrank you. update your site on a regular basis, atleast occasionally

After reaching the higher ranks in search engine you can now lessen your link building a little, just to maintain a hold over that spot.

You will Always be needing to build backlinks if you want to maintain your search rankings. As I like to say "SEO is never a one and done situation."

Yes, it certainly does mean that. Another option is to add fresh content other than these your options are limited.

Get higher quality authority backlinks with keyworded anchor text if possible with dofollow.

As I always like to say SEO is never a one and done situation. You will always need to be improving or you site will get lost in the rankings.

You need to maintain it by continuously working with your website. Just keep on building quality links in order to improve it and maintain its position!

Once you get a stable rank on you keyword then only u have to get backlinks from high pr sites, do article submission in a time period and link exchange from same theme site your rank will not go down.

Great question! Backlinks are vital to holding a high position. However, alot of people do not realize there is a much, much easier way to gain and hold a position. I've seen people already make it to page number one! They do it simply by an old fashioned way of getting there name out there. It's by writing articles (I personally use Ezine Articles) because it's the largest one. There are literally thousands and thousands you can use. These websites have a lot of backlinks because they are so heavily used, therefore Search Engines like Google look at this and "like it" for lack of a better term. After researching your keywords and creating a well written article...you may just find yourself of page one of Google. If you have anymore questions on more details, feel free to get ahold of me.

I personally never lighten up on the link building efforts to maintain a high ranking. I would recommend doing what got you there in the first place.

Yes, this does mean that you have to keep on building backlinks. SEO is an on going process and so you need to build backlinks to your site on a continuous basis, otherwise you can start dropping in the results.

yup, you got to keep on building links. Sometimes when I was ranking for some of the top positions, I went down, because other people created more links.

This is the classic example of why I tell my clients this. "SEO is never a one dome proposition." I also suggest that they run from anyone who said otherwise!

With the rapid updates that Google is conducting, there are no possibilities that you can maintain your ranking. There is always changes that will happen.

Not necessarily building backlinks but keep doing what makes you get to the position you want to maintain.

The best way to hold SERP position is to keep building high PR backlinks

building low quality backlinks will only make it go down

just regular phrases update site, build your SMO regularly, and other off page activity
