Exclamation Anyone Else Having Google Sitemaps tell them they have Errors?

    Ok this is very odd,

I have not changed, added to, or modified the URLs on my Google Sitemap for months!

Although the individual webpages themselves have been updated and changed, the exact URLs that lead to them have remained solid.

All of those months passing by and everyday that sitemap has been crawled by googlebot and everything is ok.

Even last night webmasters tools told me googlebot successfully crawled my sitemap.

Then I check this morning and now :annoyed:google tells me that my sitemap has errors.

Now is this just a problem on googles end? Or has for all those months I did not realize I had an error in the site map?issy:

I am also interesting in this topic, but I think that it's the right place for discussing it.

Are you sure that the URL in your sitemap generator is the same as that which you registered with Google? I know this sounds odd BUT i had a problem that I had www in one and not in the other.

Hmm...now that is a good question, honestly have no clue.

Now which URL are you talking about my home page URL or my domain URL?

currently I have over 163 different URLs for the one domain name, so I am at a lost, because even if just one URL was bad...google has no way of telling me which one it is!:gloomy:

I have experienced a lot of google webmaster tools errors in the past with robots.txt. No idea why they should show up as errors. If the googlebot cannot access a particular page then it is for a reason. From memory, they went away after a while.

I think the googlebot just wants to get into every nook and cranny.

So should I be worried then? I am just concerned because I have never gotten a message from Google before stating that there is an error in my sitemap.

I am worried, why now? When it is so close to the next PR update, now google wants to log errors in my sitemap? Why?

All of these months have passed by, and now they find an error in my sitemap? It is ridiculous!

I constantly update my sitemap, but essentially all of the URLs in my sitemap have remained the same. So those sitemaps were good all of this time, but now all of a sudden the sitemaps have errors and cannot be crawled!

Signed into webmaster tools today and now "miraculously" that same sitemap that Google found errors in and could not crawl. Now all of sudden is crawlable by google bot and now has no errors in it.

I did not change the site map at all, so first there was a problem and now everything is all good.

I am assuming that it has to be something google is doing on their end. Who knows anything that goes on with googlebot and the way they crawl sitemaps.

Guess I should just ignore it now then, but still curious as to what the hell it could have been if there was an error in my sitemap.

Angry Re: Anyone Else Having Google Sitemaps tell them they have Errors?

This cannot be happening, it is starting to get me angry.

Yesterday everything was fine, I sign into google webmaster tools again today, and now google is telling me again that there is an error in my sitemap; mind you now the sitemap which has not been changed or modified by me at all, is the same one that was OK yesterday!

Google please make up your mind, is there or is there not an error in my sitemap? I am very impatient and cannot deal with your indecisiveness.

How the hell am I supposed to know if you wont tell me exactly what this "mysterious error" is!

Have not changed the URL's in my sitemap for months, can anyone please advise?

It is telling me due to a "Parsing Error" my sitemap is unreadable, so if the site map has not been changed, how was it readable yesterday and all those prior?
